Ten Things I Learned from ClimbMax

Climbmax is an aerial rope adventure setup between eucalyptus trees in three levels - 5, 10 and 15 meters above the ground. The entire course comprises of ropes, balance beam, bridges, swing, nets and mini zipline.

Are you ready for this kind of ultimate physical challenge? Don't worry because you'll be equipped with a harness attached to a safety line in your entire feat.

Visa Checkout Singapore team bravely embrace the thrill and excitement as we held our team building activity at MegaZip Adventure Park in Sentosa.

This Climbmax experience is an exercise of courage, vigor and endurance. But more than that, it led me hanging with the following insights:

1. Life is one big obstacle course

You succeed at one thing and then you move on to the next. When an obstacle is tough, you try harder. When an obstacle is insurmountable, you change course. But you never sit down and refuse to finish. --Bethenny Frankel

2. Believe in yourself
Every great dream is first conceived in the mind. If others did it, you can do it too. If others stumble, you can show them how its done (wink)

3. Aim high
If you fail you can always get back up and try again but if you succeed you build that confidence and grit within you. I am glad I took the maximum level and decently finished it.

4. Face your fears
Taking that first shaky step on that rope could be your baby step in conquering your fears. Do not let your fears limit you from the possibility of achieving your full potential.

5. Balance
Just like how work-life balance is essential to your well-being. The way you balance and maneuver your body weight in these high ropes is your advantage.

6. Focus
To surpass each wobbly cables and get to the next post is physically and emotionally challenging. You can dwell on the difficulties OR encourage altophobia(fear of heights) OR you can focus on the goal of finishing well by taking each step deliberately until you reach the succeeding post.

7. Discover yourself
While there are problems beneficial to go through with the support of your family or friends, there will be bumps in your life that you need to figure out alone. Similar to this challenge, in the end you get to know your strength and weaknesses better.

8. Look beyond the obstacles
Yes it could be fearful to stand 15 meters above the ground plus the fact that you need to step on those shaky ropes and wooden platform, but along with it comes the access to the breathtaking view of the jungle canopy of Imbiah Hill while completing the climb.

9. Have a good grip
A powerful grip and upper body strength is a good foundation when doing Climbmax. Similarly, hold on to the essentials of life - relationships, family, friends, experience and learning. These are the ones worth pursuing for.

10.  Take your pace
It's not how fast you finish the track but how comfortable you are while doing it. Take your time and get that momentum flowing.
