Davao 2010: Philippine Eagle Center


Upon entrance to Davao City Water District (DCWD) watershed, where Philippine Eagle Center is located you'll pay an entrance fee of P5.00/person. Another P50.00/person for adult and P30.00/person for youth (18 yrs and below) as entrance fee at the Philippine Eagle Center.


The Center simulates tropical rain forests environment conducive for the animal habitat and have various collections of plants and colorful flower landscape as well as a man-made fish pond.


PEC is home to 36 Philippine Eagles, 18 of which are captive-bred. It also houses 10 other species of birds, 4 species of mammals and 2 species of reptiles.

"The Philippine Eagle Foundation is a private, non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to saving the endangered Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) and its rainforest habitat. Organized in 1987, it had before that time been operating as a project undertaking research, rehabilitation, and captive breeding. "

How to get there?
* By Van
- Take van for hire going to Calinan at Bangkerohan terminal for P40.00/person.
- From Calinan, take a motorcycle for hire going to Malagos where the Philippine Eagle Center is located for P10.00/person.
* By Bus
- Buses going to Calinan depart every 15 minutes from the Annil Terminal located at corner Quirino and San Pedro Extension. Bus fare is P30.
- From Calinan, take a pedicab/motorcycle going to the PEC (P10.00/person)
* By Taxi
A taxi from Davao to the Philippine Eagle Center will cost you around PhP1500 (about 5 hours)

Davao 2010: Eden Nature Park & Resort

Experience green... Breathe in nature... and savor freshness throughout this 80 hectares mountain resort popularly known as Eden.

- featuring the amphiteater, rainbow pass and wide variety of flower breeds.


2. Tinubdan
- over 5,000 square meters cultural park that promotes the Mindanaon culture. Derived from the root word “tubod”, meaning spring or origin of water. Tinubdan is the tubod of wisdom – a dynamic tour designed to give viewers glimpse of the customs, traditions, beliefs and the way of life of the indigenous peoples of Mindanao.


3. Lola's Garden
- with a replica of our native bahay-kubo; lola's garden growing various organic vegetables and spices;

How to get there?
*By PUJ
1. Ride a jeepney bound for Toril, drop off @Mercury Drug Store.
2. Motorcycles are available for hire at P50-P80 per person to bring you right at the entrance of Eden Nature Park & Resort.

*By Shuttle
Check Eden Sakay na!
They provide shuttle service from Matina Town Square(MTS) at P200 per person during weekends. Shuttle departs at 8:30am and 11:00am from MTS and leaves Eden at 1:30pm and 4:00pm. During weekends, there are special trips where you can rent shuttle at P1500 good for 5 hours.

Davao 2010: Ponce Suites Art Gallery Hotel

The lobby will welcome you with visually stimulating walls, colorful ceiling lights at the reception area and a gigantic wooden sculpture of a man reaching the ceiling light.


Each floor of this three-level gallery hotel has its own story. Every hallway and wall is decorated with rows and columns of canvass, art photos, still life paintings, art pieces made of driftwood, hair, old clothes, nails, steel, glass, paper and all sorts of scrap.




Every art piece that you can see here at Ponce Suites are results of the creativity and genius of Mindanao’s renowned artist Kublai Millan. He is also the man behind the gigantic sculptures you can see inside Peoples's Park and "The Durian" sculpture in the Davao International Airport.
