How do you balance your life? This is one of the most common question people tend to ask to successful people. Before Dr. Billy Graham passed away, he was asked what was his greatest regret in life. Dr. Graham responded that if given a chance, he will spend more time with his children, as some of them have gone through ups and downs. There are unnecessary pains that we go through in life simply because we don’t follow God’s design.

And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men. – Luke 2:52

Jesus continue to make progress in his walk. The Christian life is like riding a bicycle, the day you stop moving forward, you are going to fall. Do not think that you have arrived spiritually and stop growing in your knowledge of God.

To understand why you need to balance life is the reality of tension between business, ministry and family. The truth is, right amount of tension is good but if it’s left unstable it can be damaging.

True success is becoming all that God wants you to be and doing all that He wants you to do and hearing Him say “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The primary focus here is the “being” or your character – becoming all that God wants you to be – with your mind, body, spirit, relationship etc. In life you won’t have time to do everything, however you will have enough time to do everything that God wants you to do.

Jesus grew in wisdom. Wisdom is different from knowledge, it is the application of knowledge. To be wise you must know the will of God. To have wisdom is to know how to make the right choices.

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. – Ephesians 5:15-17

Jesus grew in stature. Your body is God’s temple. Remember that you are precious to God - you and your body belongs to Him. Take care of your body, find time to rest just like how God commanded you to rest on Sabbath day.

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? -- 1 Corinthians 3:16

For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. -- 1 Corinthians 6:20
Nowadays, technology has taken the best of our time because of addiction to mobile phones/computer and games even for kids. We should learn to use our resources efficiently by limiting use of mobile devices/computer – make a schedule. Do not let technology manage you but manage technology for your benefit.

Jesus grew in favour with God and men. Notice the order, God first before men. According to research, the most common predictor of success in the corporate world is not IQ(Intelligence Quotient) but EQ(Emotional Quotient). Emotional intelligence can be greatly affected by SQ(Spiritual Quotient). Spiritual intelligence is seeing things from God’s perspective.

For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
– Psalm 36:9

Life is only 10 percent of what happen to you, how you react to your circumstance make up the 90 percent. Do not allow your emotions to control you. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control – Galatians 5:22
