Israel: Dead Sea

'And the border shall go down to the Jordan and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders all around.' --Number 34:12

The Dead Sea also known as Salt Sea, the Sea of Arabah and the Easter Sea, is a hypersaline lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and Palestine to the west.

Here are five interesting scoop about this unique body of water courtesy of Wikipedia

1. The surface and shore are 429 meters (1407 feet) below see level, so if you are in the Dead Sea you are at the lowest point of the earth on land. How cool is that?

2. Dead Sea is 304 meters (977 feet) deep the deepest hypersaline lake in the world.

3. Having 34.2% salinity (in 2011), it is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean, and one of the world's saltiest bodies of water. The high salinity makes it harmful for marine life, thus no aquatic plant or animal thrive in this sea. No wonder it's called Dead Sea.

4. Nowadays companies use the salt and minerals from the Dead Sea to different cosmetic products and herbal sachets. To name some of the famous brands - Ahava and Premier Dead Sea.

5. The Dead Sea water has a density of 1.24kg/liter, which makes people float easily because of natural buoyancy.

Now let's test and see :D
