Leyte: San Juanico Bridge

The longest bridge in the Philippines that connects Leyte (Tacloban City) and Samar (Sta. Rita) spanning across San Juanico strait over 2.16 kilometers (1.34 mi). Construction started in August 1969 and was completed in December 1972.

The bridge is shaped like the letters L S which stands for Leyte and Samar.

Also called the Bridge of Love because it was (allegedly) a gift of Ferdinand Marcos to Imelda Romualdez(originally from Leyte) and to the city of Tacloban.

Before I only got to see this huge infrastructure in my textbooks back in my elementary days. Now it's for real and it's amazing! =D
