Nicholas Sparks: The Rescue

Sparks did spark my bookworm mood, been up till 2AM these past few days because of this ;))

Here are some of my favorite parts in the book:

“I don't want to lose you.' His voice almost a whisper. Seeing his haggard expression, she took his hand and squeezed it, then reluctantly let it go. She could feel the tears again, and she fought them back. 'But you don't want to keep me, either, do you?' To that, he had no response.”  --Taylor and Denise

“Everyone has crap in their background, everyone has things they wish they could undo. But most people don't go around doing their best to screw up their present lives because of it.” --Mitch

“Loving someone and having them love you back is the most precious thing in the world. It's what made it possible for me to go on, but you don't seem to realize that. Even when love is right there in front of you, you choose to turn away from it. You're alone because you want to be.”  --Judy

Movie: 3 Idiots

One of the best movie I've ever seen! A story of friendship, family, striving for excellence, love and dreams. A fusion of drama, adventure, romance, music and comedy.

'Genius' Rancho, Farhan and Raju made me laugh, cry and dance... brought me back to my college days... reminded me of my family and true friends but most importantly made me realize 3 things: be optimistic, pursue excellence and follow your dreams!

3 Idiots in 3 words - Inspiring! Entertaining! Brilliance!

Here are some of the lines from the movie for keeps:

Rancho: Pursue excellence, and success will follow, pants down.
---
Farhan Qureshi: Most of us went to college just for a degree. No degree meant no plum job, no pretty wife, no credit card, no social status. But none of this mattered to him, he was in college for the joy of learning, he never cared if he was first or last.
---
Raju: Sir, I have learnt to stand up on my feet after having broken both my legs. This attitude has come with great difficulty. No sir, I can't. You may keep your job, and let me keep my attitude.
---
Farhan: We learnt something about human behaviour that day, It feels bad when a friend fails, but it feels even worse when he comes first.
---
Rancho: That day I understood that this heart scares easily. You have to trick it, however big the problem is. Tell your heart, 'Pal, all is well. All is well.'
Raju: Does that solve the problem?
Rancho: No, but you gain courage to face it.
---
Rancho: (to Professor Virus) I wasn't teaching you engineering, that you know better than me. I was teaching you how to teach.
---
Rancho: Make your passion your profession, and work will become a game

Zambales: Capones

Zambales trip will not be complete without visiting Capones island and trekking to their Lighthouse. This is my second time here but this island still bedazzles me.

Capones is an hour away sail from Nagsasa cove, from the shore we had to trek passing through the island shore, with all the rocks formation under the heat of the sun. Whew! But don't worry, cause the panoramic view and lighthouse will be worth the sweat and stretch on your way to the top. Carrying a bottle of water would be very helpful to hydrate yourself ;)

Zambales: Nagsasa Cove

2012 Summer is official!!! We kick it off with our Zambales adventure. From Manila we took Victory liner express bus going to Olonggapo(via SCTEX) for 3 hours. From Olonggapo, we took Olonggapo-San Marcelino jeep and asked the driver to take us to San Antonio market stop-over then to Pundaquit, where we found boats for rent.

We left Pundaquit at 8:20am and after more than an hour of sailing, seeing the shores of Nagsasa cove took away all my tiredness and travel fatigue :) A breath of fresh air!

With the scenic mountain ranges around the cove, lush pine trees, soft and warm sand, scent of salt water in the air and perfect weather! It's like a piece of heaven here on earth ;) Reminds me how majestic our Creator is.
