10 simple ways to mark a difference

As pondering on this post, I can't help but to complicate things... Urrgh! and all the more I complicate, all the more I can't contribute... So frustrating!

Until finally, I came to admit making excuses to justify my irresolute effort to change.

Here are my best shots for now. Read at your own risk!

1. Smile
"It takes 26 muscles to smile, and 62 muscles to frown." - Anonymous
So why make it hard for yourself? Unless you want to look older than your age :P

2. Read a book
"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them." - Mark Twain
Reading books broadens not only our intellectual and imaginative world but opens our heart and mind for a greater vision.

3. Thank people
“Every time we remember to say “thank you”, we experience nothing less than heaven on earth.” - Sarah Ban Breathnach
Thank someone who opens the door for you, who extends a hand for your jeepney fare, the cashier who punched your grocery items, the operator who assist your call, your teacher who had been patient to teach your ABC... surely this list grows because there are a lot of people whom we should give thanks.

4. Make an A.R.K. (act of random kindness)
"It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." - Unknown
Making an impact does not require spectacular achievement or selfless sacrifice, oftentimes a simple act of random kindness a day is enough.

5. Encourage a friend
“If you see a friend without a smile; give him one of yours.” - Proverbs

6. Help a stanger
"Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others. " - Danny Thomas

7. Vote
"The margin is narrow, but the responsibility is clear." - John F. Kennedy
A person who did not cast his vote during the election has no right to cast his complaint. Period.

8. Share a thought
”Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality. “ - Anonymous
Journal your experiences, express yourself, twit or plurk, start your own blog.

9. Learn new things
"Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Gandhi
Study new language, learn a new recipe, engage in new sport, join an organization that fits you, visit a place you've never been to, try an exotic cuisine...

10. Start today
"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult." - Anonymous
This time is always the right time to do the right thing and make a difference.

Here are but simple ways which ordinary people can do to exceed beyond life's mediocrity.

Filipino wins CNN Hero of the Year 2009

Philippines is blessed to have an Efren Penaflorida who has a genuine heart for the Filipino youth and a daring hand to carry out the task.

Winning the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year, could be regarded as just an icing of the cake... Because Efren already succeeded in the real battle, which is the everyday struggle of pushing his mobile classroom in strange places like cemetery and slums.

Pushcart educator named CNN Hero of the Year

For those who voted for Efren, it had been a privilege to be part of the history of awakening honor for Filipino's nobility.

Walang Hangganan

sung by: Beebo Saavedra and Eunice Saldana

Kung pag masdan, paroroonan
Di maiwasang magbalik sa nakaraan
Kung paano Mo ako tinawid sa kahirapan
Dakila ang Iyong katapatan

Bawat hakbang na patutunguhan
Pagpapatawad at habang ang mananahan
Kahit na sa pagkukulang, biyaya Mo'y
'Di mabilang, kailangan ko'y Ikaw kalian pa man

Chorus:
Kaya't ako'y aawit ng papuri
Buong kakayahan sayo'y laan
Sa piling Mo'y ako'y mananatili
'Pagkat Sayo'y may buhay na walang hanggan
Ihahandog Sayo'y pasasalamat
Buong kakayahan Sayo'y laan

At kahit na hindi karapat-dapat
'Pagkat ang Iyong pag-ibig ay walang hangganan
Noon pa ma'y, May katiyakan
Kinabukasan ko'y Ikaw ang kanlungan
Kahit saan pa man di ako pababayaan
Pangako Mo ay pawing hahawakan

Dahil Ikaw Bro ang Star ng Pasko :D

ABS-CBN one of the leading network in the Philippines launches their Christmas station ID for 2009 just in time when we need it the most. In spite of the adverse atmosphere left by storm Ondoy and Pepeng, this song inspires us to carry on and see things with a light perspective. Teaching us to celebrate the coming Christmas with joy and gratitude, and acknowledging Jesus Christ is the real reason for the season. Advance merry christmas to all!

Oh I need to find the lyrics of this song...
Can't stop having LSS. "Salamat sa liwanag Mo, muling magkakakulay ang pasko." See!
